Seismic activity has increased in Armenia.

The weekly consultation at Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) was held Monday, and it was chaired by Minister Armen Yeritsyan.

A number of minor earthquakes were registered, and the seismic activity has increased in Armenia in the past several weeks. So, the Minister instructed to invite scientists, and to examine and analyze the current seismic activity. The minister was also informed about magnitude 2.4 tremor registered in Armenia, today, at 7:47 a.m. local time, 17 km northeast of Artashat city.

Also, Armen Yeritsyan was informed that fire safety inspections were carried out in the capital Yerevan’s large entities, and as a result several fire safety regulation violations were discovered.

So, the photographs of such entities, and of natural gas and gasoline pumping stations, cranes, elevators, and other dangerous production entities, which have not been technically inspected, will now be published in MES’s weekly.
