A gay couple have broken the world record for the longest kiss in a Valentine’s Day competition in Thailand. Nontawat Jaroegenasornsin, 31, and Thanakorn Sittiamthong, 28, smooched for 50 hours, 25 minutes and one second. They could drink through a straw and had to stay kissing during trips to the bathroom, huffingtonpost.com reports.
Seven couples took part in the competition in the resort town of Pattaya in Thailand. The prize was a diamond ring worth THB100,000 (Thai baht, $3,240, €2,463) and hotel gift voucher worth THB200,000 (baht, $6,480, €4,926), according to The Daily Telegraph.
Jaroegenasornsin said: 'We won because we supported each other. Last year we only lasted 22 hours. So we decided to come to this competition to compete again’.
The previous Guinness World Record for the longest kiss was held by Lakkana and Ekkachai Tiranarat, a Thai couple from Bangkok at 46 hours 24 minutes and 9 seconds. They took part in this year’s competition but parted lips early for the good of their marriage, Lakkana said. ‘We decided to stop it because we want to keep our love,’ she said.
On the same day companies in the US and Thailand announced the launch of OutThai.com, a bilingual social networking site.
