President Serzh Sargsyan received US congressmen.

President Serzh Sargsyan received Sunday a delegation of US Congressmen, who arrived in Armenia on their way to Afghanistan.

During the supper held in honor of the congressmen, President Sargsyan underscored the active contacts with Armenia’s friends at the US Congress. Noting that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the United States, Serzh Sargsyan expressed his gratitude for the US assistance being provided to Armenia, the President’s Office informed.

In their turn, the members of the US Congress stressed the development of relations between the two countries. “Your dedication to human rights, democracy, and the rule of law in Armenia can serve as an example for many,” said Congressman David Dreier.

They also discussed the avenues for further developing and deepening Armenian-American ties, and pointed to the need to strengthen cooperation.
