Yerevan won`t forget what mayor Taron Margaryan did - Publicist Marine Petrosyan.

"The situation is rather tense in Mashtots Park, the people are concerned. Yerevan won`t forget what mayor Taron Margaryan did. The citizens` activeness shows this," publicist Marine Petrosyan told LURER.com correspondent today in Mashtots avenue.

"We will fight in any way to stop the construction in the park. Nevertheless, I hope it will not reach to violence," she said.

Publicist Tigran Parskevichyan is also going to join the environmental activists. "The Yerevan municipality for populist purposes dismantled the kiosks from Abovyan street transferring them to another vital area for people without taking into consideration their opinion. We should struggle for own rights," stated Tigran Parskevichyan during the talk with LURER.com journalist.

To note, after yesterday`s protest the construction works were stopped for a while but the construction at Mashtots Park had resumed at midnight, and with the assistance of several hundred police officers, and the demonstrations there are continuing on Tuesday.

Till today many famous people have joined the activists: MP Anahit Bakhshyan, journalist Nver Mnatsakanyan, priest Kyuregh Talyan, actors Sos Janibekyan, Mikael Poghosyan, Hrant Tokhatyan, Lala Mnatsakanyan, musicians Ruben Hakhverdyan, Armine Hayrapetyan, Suren Arustamyan, Artak Nersisyan, Amirkhanyan, showmen Hayko, Hovo, etc.

More than one week national area defenders are holding a protest action demanding to stop the construction in Mashtots avenue and to dismantle already installed constructions.
