Armenian premier lays flowers at Mesrob Mashtots’ tomb on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.

On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited Oshakan and laid flowers at the tomb of Mesrop Mashtots as a sign of tribute.
At the scholar's home, the schoolchildren of the province participated in an event dedicated to Mesrop Mashtots and the creation of the Armenian alphabet.
In 1999, UNESCO declared February 21 as International Mother Language Day. On this occasion, events dedicated to Mother Language Day have been organized nationwide, reports the Department of Information and Public Relations of the RA Government.
