Culture Minister of Armenia Hasmik Poghosyan received Wednesday Ambassador of Lithuania Gedrius Apuokas.
At the meeting the parties congratulated each other on signing of the agreement on "Cooperation between Armenia and Lithuania in the sphere of culture" on January 26. They stated it will open new opportunities for bilateral cultural cooperation and referred to the issues of the running year.
Minister Hamsik Poghosyan familiarized Gedrius Apuokas with the programs on Yerevan- Book Capital 2012 and 500th anniversary of Armenian book printing. The minister invited the ambassador to participate in the aforementioned celebrations.
Gedrius Apuokas expressed gratitude to the minister for the invitation and promised to support "ArmBookExpo" Armenian book exhibition scheduled for April 21.
The ambassador said the Lithuanian cinematographers have expressed wish to screen a film about the cross-stone and asked for the ministry's support and consultation in that issue. The parties also reached an agreement over conduction of joint open-air concerts of the Vilnius Brass Bandy and Armenian brass orchestras.
Wrapping up the meeting Minister Hasmik Poghosyan told the ambassador that "ArmMono" international theater festival is to launch in Armenia February 29, in which Lithuanian distinguished actor Regimantas Adomaitis will take part and invited the ambassador to the artist's soiree.
