Armenian FM meets Vietnamese president.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan met on Friday President of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang in the country’s capital where he is now on a visit by the invitation of the Vietnamese leader.
According to a press release by the Foreign Ministry, Tan Sang expressed his country’s cordial attitude to Armenia and the Armenian people, highly praising Armenia’s assistance to the Vietnam in the post-war period.
“Many our citizens, who were educated in Armenia, are now investing their knowledge in the country’s development. The Vietnamese people are grateful to Armenia for such assistance,” he said.
Tan Sang reiterated his invitation to the Armenian president to visit the country.
Nalbandyan in turn conveyed to the Vietnamese leader his Armenian counterpart’s greeting and kind wishes and said President Serzh Sargsyan has already accepted the invitation.
The parties agreed that Sargsyan’s visit, expected in the first half of 2012, would boost the bilateral ties still further.
They further focused on future steps aimed to promote the development of relations and the integration processes in Asian. The Vietnamese leader said in that context that his country could open Armenia’s gate to the Asia-Pacific region.
