The opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) is likely to garner 46% votes during the May parliamentary elections, Arman Musinyan, a spokesperson for HAK Leader and Armenia's First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, told journalists on Monday.
The HAK official is confident that the opposition bloc will have a significant presence in parliament in case free and fair elections are held in the country. During the parliamentary elections HAK is going to smash Serzh Sargsyan and his party [Republican Party of Armenia - HHK] - the guardians of the acting regime.
"They are the product of criminal and mental aberration and are responsible for illegalities and election fraud," said Mr Musinyan.
The HAK representative did not rule out the bloc's possible cooperation with Gagik Tsarukyan's Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK).
"If the BHK proves its determination to conduct free and transparent elections and shows social and political resistance to fraud, it will open a wide field of cooperation," he said.
Arman Musinyan also said that the 18 political parties affiliated with the Armenian National Congress are still discussing their joint proportional list.
During its March 1 rally, the opposition bloc will dwell on its further steps, said the HAK representative.
