Armenian parliament rejects bill on passing to completely proportional election system.

Armenian National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday voted against the parliamentary opposition Heritage and ARF Dashnaktsutyun parties’ bill on changing to a 100-percent proportional election system in the country.
As a result, 30 MPs voted for and 56 deputies voted against the draft law while 4 MPs abstained.
As LURER.com informed earlier, at the parliamentary opposition’s request, NA on Tuesday started discussing the proposal for making changes in the Electoral Code and passing to a completely proportional election system. And in this connection, the parliamentary opposition Heritage and ARF Dashnaktsutyun parties, and the non-parliamentary opposition bloc Armenian National Congress organized a rally on the same day.
