The Armenian soldier who died yesterday was tortured.

The body of 19-year old soldier Tigran Varyan, who was killed at one of the military units of the Defense Army in the north, was dissected at the morgue today.

Among the participants was expert of the Helsinki Association Ruben Martirosyan, who told "A1+" correspondent that there were signs of an assault and torture on Tigran Varyan's body.

The expert said he got the impression that the soldier had gone against several people and some of the murderers had kept him, while the other shot him.

Ruben Martirosyan, based on his impression of the examination of the soldier's body, viewed his death as intentional and mentioned that the soldier had received the wounds several minutes before his death.

The expert of the Helsinki Association views the instigation of a case according to Article 110 (1) of the RA Criminal Code in relation to Tigran Varyan's death (leading to suicide) as illegitimate and finds that it should be viewed as a brutal, intentional murder.

The expert expressed his viewpoint to representative of the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Defense Yura Badalyan. According to Martirosyan, Yura Badalyan said they would look over it again and might change the Article.
