Our leading chess players were defeated in the third round of the European Women’s Championship in Gaziantep, Turkey. Elina Danielian lost to Molchanova, Lilit Mkrtchian lost to Ziazulkina, Maria Kursova lost to Hoang Thanh Trang, and Anna Hairapetian lost to Kovanova.

Nelli Alexanian, representing Russia, beat Szczepkowska and Elmira Skripchenko, representing France, beat Lilit Galojan.
