Conflicts inside the ANC?

The political parties that recently withdrew from the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) are dissatisfied with the alliance, an activist has said.
Samvel Harutyunyan, a member of the Armenian Volunteers Union national-political group, told reporters on Tuesday that ANC’s tactics and strategy account for 90% of the reasons the opposition parties choose to quit the alliance.
“As a national representative of Armenian volunteers, I have been an ANC member for 3.5 years, but it’s already several days I withdrew from membership,” he said.
It comes after four political parties represented in the opposition alliance refused to back ANC ahead of the May parliamentary polls.
“I have not been satisfied with the ANC’s work since March 1,” said he, adding that few of the active proposals voiced at the alliance’s political board meetings received any attention at all.
“In the past 35-40 days, there have been heated debates over both the strategy and the proportional representation list of the [Armenian National] Congress. With the joint efforts of 13 political forces, we had reached a mutually coordinated decision, but the plan was unfortunately frustrated by the Armenian Pan-national Movement and the four political forces backing it,” he said.
Harutyunyan added that he may continue his campaign with the Sardarapat Movement.
