"Let this time be indifferent and not to participate in Eurovision 2012." Sofi Mkheyan

Some time ago a group of well-known Armenian singers released a statement addressed to the European Broadcasting Union and the Armenian Public TV Company saying they decline from participating in the Eurovision Song Contest-2012 to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The statement came after Armenia’s Defense Ministry reported that on Feb. 23 an Armenian conscript was shot dead by an Azerbaijani sniper in the North-Eastern province of Tavush. But yesterday it was officially confirmed that on Feb. 23, Armenian soldier Albert Adibekyan 20, serving in Tavush region's Chinari village's defensive positions, was killed by his fellow serviceman and not by Azeri sniper.
Will the Armenian singers' approach change after this statement? LURER.com had a talk with singer, producer Nadejda Sargsyan and singer Sofi Mkheyan.
"They should not go. I have already said my opinion. True, it is very important who killed the soldier, an Armenian or an Azeri sniper, but first of all everyone should understand what it means to send out children to sing on their stage. Probably nobody can understand this better bu me. We have no right to endanger our singers. I speak both as mother and producer. There we have captives. How can we go there to have fun? Let this year not to go, what is the problem?" said Nadejda Sargsyan.
In response to the same question Sofi Mkheyan without giving further explanations only mentioned, "If the country decides not to participate, it will be like this. There is no need to connect this with the decision of the singers. Let this time be indifferent and not to participate in Eurovision 2012."
