During the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia’s (RPA) thirteenth regular congress, which was underway on Saturday at capital Yerevan’s Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex, the Party unanimously elected the new members of its Executive Body.
Prior to the election, however, RPA Board Chairman and Armenia’s current President Serzh Sargsyan motioned that the number of the Body’s members be increased to nineteen, and he subsequently announced the names of his proposed nominees.
Incidentally, Sargsyan read the names of eighteen people and added: “And I am the nineteenth.”
Afterward, Serzh Sargsyan motioned the congress delegates to propose other candidates, but no one suggested other nominees, and therefore the decision was unanimously adopted.
