The activists protesting against the construction of kiosks in Yerevan’s Mashtots Park have voiced their intention to launch a round-the-clock sit-in in the area.
In a statement, they call upon the municipal authorities to protect the public property from commercialization by taking action towards dismantling the kiosks and renovating the park. They have set a deadline until March 16, expecting a positive decision.
“But we will not leave the park until then. We’ll be there 24 hours a day,” reads the statement.
The activists have also created a group on Facebook, inviting 3,894 users to join them.
