Bobbi Kristina wants to be a Houston.
USA
Just a month after Whitney Houston’s untimely death, Bobbi Kristina Brown wants to forever be known as her mother’s child and is apparently ready to drop Brown as her last name and become Bobbi Kristina Houston.
The 19-year-old is a legal adult and it is within her rights to change her name. That’s something she’s wanted to do for a while, but her mother prevented her from doing it, TMZ reports.
Bobby Brown, Bobbi’s father, flew to be by his daughter’s side a day after Whitney’s death, but it’s unclear how much contact he’s actually had with his daughter.
It’s been reported that the Houston family has kept its distance from Bobby, who admittedly did not feel welcomed at his ex-wife’s funeral and exited prematurely.
Bobbi Kristina’s desire to take on her mother’s last name leads to more suspicion that she is avoiding her father, whom many blame for initiating Whitney’s drug use.
Bobbi, Whitney Houston’s only child, is the sole heir to her estate, estimated at more than $10.2 million. The money will be kept in a trust fund that she’ll have access to when she turns 24, The Daily Mail reports.
