The OSCE/ODIHR observers arrive in Armenia.

The observers of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) are arriving in Armenia in separate groups, head of the Yerevan office Andrey Sorokin told journalists on Thursday.

He recalled that the OSCE mandate does not suppose holding monitoring but providing ODIHR with the assistance in conducting the monitoring mission.

In his turn deputy head of the OSCE office Carel Hofstra said another group of observers will arrive in Armenia next week.

A team of experts, 24 long-term observers and 250 short-term observers, will participate in monitoring of Armenia’s parliamentary elections scheduled for May.
