No division-of-Ukraine moves at talks with Putin — Poland ex-premier

No proposals were made for a division of Ukraine at talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, former Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said live on local radio in comments to the scandalous interview given by former Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski with US Politico edition.
“No such proposals were made at any meetings with President Putin,” Tusk said. In the words of the politician, in 2008 mentioned by Sikorski he had no bilateral meeting with Putin and talks were held in a narrow format not debating Ukraine.
“All this story shows that the memory can fail to a person,” Tusk said stating that now this affair can already be considered closed.

Sikorski said in an interview with US Politico edition that in 2008 Vladimir Putin allegedly made a hint to Donald Tusk that Ukraine might be divided between Russia and Poland. Later he refused he said these words, stating that “his memory failed.”
For his part, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the accusations nonsense. “First of all, we are not acquainted with works of this edition quite well. In general, this information looks like nonsense,” he told the Russian Gazeta.ru Internet edition.
