Winners of “Beautiful Yerevan” contest awarded.

On March 15, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with Dafina Gercheva, UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative, and winners of "Beautiful Yerevan" contest.
Welcoming the guests, the mayor highlighted the extensive and productive cooperation between Yerevan Municipality and UNDP Office and attached importance to continuation of the current programs, press service of Yerevan Municipality informed.
"I am sure, we will continue the cooperation within the framework of "Beautiful Yerevan" program and will get more tangible results. Yerevan Municipality is ready to cooperate with the United Nations over different initiatives and programs," said the mayor and stressed that for ensuring the productivity of the works the municipality intends to involve Yerevan people in those programs.
Congratulating Taron Margaryan on the election in the post of mayor on behalf of the United Nations, Dafina Gercheva assured for her part that she is interested in further development of the cooperation. For successful implementation of the programs she attached importance to commitment of local self-governing bodies, competence and cooperation of the population.
"Thanks to this extensive program we hope to improve the welfare of Yerevan people, to make the city more convenient and pleasant, promoting development of tourism as well," said Dafina Gercheva.
Within the framework of "Beautiful Yerevan" program, some monuments, frontal parts of buildings have been repaired, and neighboring territories renovated and ensured with illumination and design.
Expressing gratitude to all the participants of the contest for interesting proposals on design, Mayor Taron Margaryan handed them certificates and monetary awards, wishing new and interesting ideas.
