According to LURER.com information, today in Yerevan`s Zeytun and Avan districts the same person bought "Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun" daily`s all today`s release from 16 newsstands, as a result of which the readers were unable to get the newspaper. We were interested from "Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun" [CHI] daily`s reporter Gohar Veziryan whether there was any scandalous publication in the daily`s today`s release and with what could be conditioned the purchase of the daily`s batches from 16 newsstands.
Gohar Veziryan said that the incident could be conditioned with the article published in today`s release, under the title "Criminals left, journalists are interrogated instead."
The article referred to the information our website published some days ago. Due to it, a group of military servicemen from Kanaker army unit were brought to RA MOD Military Police department of Yerevan garrison, who were severely beaten there.
To note, we had informed earlier that the soldiers were beaten by the head of Military Police station of Yerevan garrison Ruben Nersisyan and criminal investigation employee Harutyun Vorpanyan. For smothering the incident and avoiding unnecessary scandal, soldier Arsen Grigoryan, who got facial injures, was given vacation to recover at home.
Yesterday, LURER.com news agency's release responsible Arthur Minasyan was invited to RA MOD Military Police investigation department of Yerevan garrison to give clarifications over this release. Citing Article 5 of the RA Code about Mass media, the site's release responsible, using his right, refused to give information data about the source of information.
"CHI" referred to the incident with an extensive article. Minasyan, commenting on his invitation to the investigation department, said during the talk with the daily: "I can`t explain that this is a unique way of pressure towards me, connected with my journalistic and/or engagement activities within the frames of "Army in real" initiative.
I would advise the investigation bodies instead of bothering the reporters and making efforts aimed at disclosing information sources, to use their time and energy in revealing crimes. We all know very well how quickly the information, in all detail, is applied to our society, especially if it concerns to army incidents, so the investigation bodies, if desired, can easily unveil the details of crimes without disquieting the reporters. It would be naive to think that people engaged in journalism are called to investigation departments in purpose of disclosing crimes or clarifying the circumstances based on the reporters`information, as we all understand very well that this information is achieved by them more quickly.
The amazing is that during the preparation period of the materials first the reporters are troubled, whereas people, committing crimes due to the information provided by the journalist, are not yet invited to investigation department, though the logic suggests that first of all law enforcement bodies should interrogate the victims and possible criminals.
It is remarkable that in the investigation department it was not yet clarified the identity of the injured soldier, mentioned in the aforesaid publication of the site. It means, we can state that RA Ministry of Defense continues its vicious behavior and carries out pressure over journalistic field instead of holding full investigation on incidents."
P.S. much later it became known that today`s release of "CHI" daily lacked also in Nor Nork district`s newsstands.
