The RPA strengthened the emphasis of the EPP congratulatory text by means of translation manipulations - Styopa Safaryan.

Republican Party of Armenia [RPA] asked EPP [European People's Party] to sent them video message while the Heritage party did not. Heritage party`s MP Styopa Safaryan informed about this during today`s interview with LURER.com, explaining the issue why the European People's Party among the 3 Armenian parties [having status of observers from Armenia] congratulated only the RPA on the occasion of holding congress. But this, in the MP`s opinion, does not mean that the EPP prefers the RPA and considers this party more important. 

"I exclude that the EPP will support a certain party... I have no doubt that the EPP equally supports its each member party and wishes to see the victory of each of them," assured Safaryan.

And in response to what was the reason of the pathetic mood of the EPP`s congratulatory message, Safaryan said that while translating the French original text into Armenian some translation manipulations were carried out, due to which they strengthened the emphasis of the text.

"As French language expert, and a person who, before, did translations on political and scientific themes, I must say that it is not first time for me to be assured that with certain manipulations in translation this or that emphasis or the text mood can be strengthened," he mentioned.

As examples of such manipulations Safaryan mentioned the phrases in French original text that were translated into Armenian differently. For ex. "it is quite an honor" expression was translated into Armenian as "it is the greatest honor", or the expression "I am sure you will get your worthy in the elections" was translated as "I am sure you will win in the elections."
