President of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) Ruben Hayrapetyan has left for Istanbul, Turkey to attend the 36th UEFA Congress set to open later today.
According to the FFA Public Relations Department, the chief executive of the Federation, Arman Minasyan, has also travelled to Istanbul to take part in the event.
This year’s congress will focus particularly on amendments to the UEFA Charter and the procedures of holding the annual event. The participants are also expected to approve an agreement specifying the minimum requirements in a player’s contract. UEFA’s 2010-11 financial report, as well as the organizations 2012-13 budget will be submitted to the delegates for approval.
Hayrapetyan is scheduled to have meetings with UEFA’s chiefs and the presidents of national federations.
The UEFA Congress is UEFA's supreme controlling organ. An Ordinary Congress is held every year, as a rule prior to a FIFA Congress. The 2012 FIFA Congress is due in Budapest, Hungary on May 24 and 25.
