Sergio Ramos sets new Real Madrid record with 11th red card in La Liga.

Sergio Ramos has added his name to the Real Madrid record books following his dismissal in Wednesday evening's 1-1 draw away to Villarreal in La Liga, Goal.com reported.

The defender received his second yellow card of the game in the 85th minute after a foul on Nilmar, and was consequently sent off.

Wednesday's red card was Ramos' 11th dismissal in the league since joining Madrid from Sevilla in the summer of 2005, and the Spain international has now been sent off in La Liga more often than any other Blancos player.

The 25-year-old took a total of 221 league appearances for the Primera Division leaders to achieve his record, an average of one red card every 20 games.

The defender has now amassed 300 official appearances for Madrid following the Liga clash against Villarreal.
