Greek police arrest 29 people during school parade in Athens.

The Greek police have arrested 29 people during a school parade in downtown Athens, RIA Novosti reported. The detainees participated in a demonstration of teachers’ trade union. They tried to rush into Syntagma square outside the parliament, where students were holding a rally on the occasion of Sunday’s Day of Independence. The protestors promised to prevent the parades of students and military across the country in protest to the slashing of salaries and pensions.
