Donetsk republic to announce military mobilization in 10 days — leader

Authorities in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic said on Monday they were planning to declare general mobilization in ten days.
"Up to 100,000 people will be mobilized," the republic’s leader, Alexander Zakharchenko, told journalists.
Ukrainian troops have lately suffered a series of defeats in the east of the country, the area of a violent military conflict. The militias of the self-proclaimed Donetsk republic last week managed to encircle a rather large grouping of Kiev troops near the town of Debaltsevo. At least four attempts by major military units to break the militias' defense lines have been seen since, according to DPR defense ministry spokesman Eduard Barusin.
