On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, which was launched under a decision of the Conference on security and cooperation in Europe, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan addressed congratulatory messages to the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states, Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, US President Barack Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
In his messages, the Armenian leader expressed his gratitude for the consistent efforts to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict the co-chairing countries, and their presidents personally, have made over the past 20 years.
The central aim, a final settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, has not so far been achieved. However, the Armenian leader stressed the tremendous work done over the past 20 years to bring the conflicting parties’ positions closer together, lay down the principles, relieve tension and maintain peace.
Greatly interested in resolution of the problem, Armenia will continue its constructive involvement in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process within the OSCE Minsk Group for regional stability and security, as well as for people’s better future, the Armenian leader’s messages say.
