Armenia’s MP Ruben Hayrapetyan says Gayane Arustamyan worthy rival to him.

Chairman of the Armenian Football Federation Ruben Hayrapetyan met today with students of Yerevan State University.

After the meeting with the students, even “outside of the education establishment” reporters failed to learn from Ruben Hayrapetyan what or who made him change his mind and run for parliament in electoral district #1.

Education Minister Armen Ashotyan reprimanded journalists, saying that “it is not right to ask questions about politics inside an education establishment”.

Nevertheless, the reporters were consistent and wanted to know whether Samvel Alexanyan is the one who convinced him to nominate his candidacy. Ruben Hayrapetyan said, “He must have succeeded.”

The MP only agreed to refer to the candidacy of journalist Gayane Arustamyan nominated in the same electoral district, noting that he treats her nomination normally.

“I do not know her personally. She is young, and I think she did a right thing, I wish her success in politics,” he said, adding that any citizen of Armenia is a worthy rival for him.
