Activists to dismantle kiosks in Yerevan Park?

An activists’ group protesting against the construction of kiosks in Yerevan’s Mashtots Park are planning dismantle the constructions on Saturday.

In a letter to Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan, the members of the initiative Armenian Citizens’ Assembly call for action to ensure the protection of public order and the security of the individuals expected to work in the area on the above day. They also promise not to damage the constructions.

“Recognizing the reputation of the ‘fair and independent civil court’;

Trusting its independence and impartiality, and the justification of the legal conclusion and the ruling;

Taking into consideration several other essential circumstances;

The members of the assembly decided to express their willingness to dismantle the illegally built pavilions by their own means,”reads the letter.
