RA Police refuses the report of including dead people names in the electoral register.

The Police of the Republic of Armenia refutes media reports alleging that the police have deliberately included names of dead people in the electoral register.
"The allegations do not correspond to reality.
By a July 14, 2005 decision [1231-N] of the Armenian Government, the body that registers deaths is to forward the information to the Central Register, at the same time providing documents certifying the death. According to the same decision, the personal data of the dead person are archived after the court recognizes the person's death. Later, the person's name is removed from the records of the State Register.
In many cases the relatives do not have the death registered in the Registrar of Civil Status or do not submit the death certificate of the person who has died outside the Republic of Armenia. Consequently, the Register does not remove the data of the dead person from the voters' list," the police said urging citizens to apply to the Passport and Visa Department upon finding names of dead people on voters' lists or calling at 010-53-88-63.
