My weak point is that I do not belong to any clan, Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan said on Wednesday during the presentation of his annual report.
"When someone tries to attack and defame the Ombudsman's Office there is no one to protect us, including the authorities and the opposition. The situation seems to be beneficial to everyone," said Mr Andreasyan.
In his report, the Armenian Ombudsman singled out 200 issues but he refused to assess the level of human rights protection in Armenia.
"That will be an attempt to neglect the other 200 equally important issues," he said.
Karen Andreasyan is not concerned that he might be labeled as an ‘unsuccessful' figure like his predecessor Armen Harutyunyan. He only reminded that unlike Mr Harutyunyan who had been appointed by the country's president, he was elected by the National Parliament.
"Even if the Republican Party of Armenia or the ruling coalition say that I am the most successful figure, I shall take it as compliment to my work," he concluded.
