The second congress of Russian Language Teachers Association kicked off in Armenia.

Russian Language Teachers Association second congress kicked off in Russian Drama Theatre after Stanislavski on April 4.
"Within two-year time a great deal of job was done with the support of Russian Federation Embassy; the task of spreading Russian language is as important as the development of Russian Armenian relations'' Armen Ashotyan Education and Science Minister of Armenia told the reporters. However Minister Ashotyan urged that spreading of Russian language not be politicized.
"Russian language does not contradict our cultural heritage, it is a part of it, it was through the Russian language that often civilized Armenian communicated with world, with international culture,'' the Minister stressed.
Minister Ashotyan informed that Russian language will be included in the entrance exam in the faculties of Economics, International Relations and Law.
''Regardless the previous years the tasks reduced obviously; though there are a lot of work to be done. Jointly we must step up efforts Russian language be used by different social strata'' Vyacheslav Kovalenko Russian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Armenia stated.
The Ambassador handed over the diploma to the Minister of Education and Science Ashotyan. 150 teachers from the various regions of Armenia were participating in the program.
The first congress of Russian Language Teachers Association was hold in 2009 on December 9.
