Exit poll: Kazakhstan’s incumbent president winning presidential elections

Kazakhstan’s incumbent President Nursultan Nazarbayev has won a landslide victory in the Sunday snap presidential elections, according to exit polls conducted by a number of organizations.
Thus, according to a poll conducted by the public association Institute for Socio-political Studies, Nazarbayev won 97.64% of the voted. Another poll conducted by the association Institute of Democracy showed that the incumbent president had scored 97.5% of votes. According to the poll conducted by the public foundation Strategy Centre for Social and Political Studies, Nazrabayev enrolled 97.36% of votes.
Another candidate, Turgum Syzdykov of the Communist People’s Party, scored 1.59%, 1.87%, and 1.78%, respectively. And the third candidate, Abelgazi Kusainov, the chairman of the Trade Union Federation and a self-nominee, won support from 0.77%, 0.63% and 0.86% of voters, respectively.
Exit poll organizers sais polls had been conducted across the entire country, both in big cities and rural areas.
Under the law, Kazakhstan’s Central Election Commission is to announce preliminary results of the elections within 48 hours after the end of voting. Final results are to be officially announced by May 3.
