Chairman of the board of the Armenian Pan-National Movement (HHSh), deputy candidate at precinct N 4 in Yerevan Aram Manukyan today had a meeting with OSCE/ODIHR observers Alild Falch and Scander ben Mami.
Issues related to the upcoming parliamentary elections were discussed during the more than one-and-a-half hour meeting. Aram Manukyan called the observers' attention to the exaggerated voters' lists, underlining that this was the main resource for the government to falsify the elections.
Manukyan mentioned that even based on the official statistics of Armenia's population, the number of the population has reduced in 2011, while the number of voters has increased. Aram Manukyan also informed that he had faced serious obstacles in opening sub-headquarters at his precinct as a deputy candidate. The owners of the areas, knowing that the candidate represented the Armenian National Congress-Alliance refused to provide areas, even though there had been an initial agreement. The European observers assured that they would be consistent with the alarms about electoral violations and electoral fraud, reports the HHSh news service.
