Armenia’s Human Rights Defender expects free and fair elections.

Armenia’s Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) Karen Andreasyan is concerned over the forthcoming elections.
“Is the election day going to be a day of ‘technical reports’, or cynicism, or ‘we have decided, you just go and vote’?”he asked at his meeting with journalists on Friday.
Andreasyan expects free and fair elections of Armenia’s police, Central Electoral Commission, Prosecutor General’s Office, TV and Radio Commission of Armenia. He does not see a need for meeting with the Armenian president over the issue.
With respect of election risks, Andreasyan hopes for “a peaceful election day.”
The greater is a political force’s potential the higher is the probability of violations on its part. So it is the ruling forces that are likely to resort to violations.
In any case, whatever Armenia’s judicial system is, Karen Andreasyan advises people to defend their rights in courts.
