Five election candidates running through the proportional electoral order and four candidates running through the majoritarian electoral order will no longer be running in the elections.
Ashkhen Manukyan, Karine Mkrtchyan and Meri Ghonyan have stepped out of the "Rule of Law" Party's (OEK) proportional party list, and Yervand Zurabyan and David Arakelyan have stepped out of "Heritage" Party's list. The last two are members of the "Free Democrats" Party.
Arsen Manukyan has stepped out of precinct N 1, Meruzhan Mkhoyan has stepped out of precinct N 21, Tigran Petrosyan from N 23 and the BHK's only opponent, Armen Avdalyan has stepped out of precinct N 28.
The appeals from Malik Telunts, who is running at precinct N 37 through the majoritarian electoral order, were on the agenda during today's session of the Central Electoral Commission.
On April 4, Telunts appealed to the president of the precinct electoral commission to inform about his decision to step out. However, two days later he asked to not discuss his appeal and leave him registered as a candidate.
The CEC has decided to let Malik Telunts continue to run in the elections.
