Armenia's Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan dismissed on Friday initial fears of political motives behind the murder of Karen Yesayan, future son-in-law of Gyumri mayor Vardan Ghukasyan's daughter.
"I can say from the very beginning that the murder is not politically motivated and it will be revealed as soon as possible. As far as the investigation is already underway, there is no need to circulate any names of suspects," Gasparyan told journalists in Yerevan.
The police official said there aren't untold crimes and the one in Gyumri is not exclusion.
Vladimir Gasparyan said every two days he is reported about unrevealed cases, which are under his personal supervision.
Murder remains murder for me, no matter whether it is committed by an official or a common citizen," the chief of the Armenian police said.
Karen Yesayan, would-be son-in-law of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, was shot dead near Mother Armenia statue in Gyumri late on April 12.
