Armenian President and Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Serzh Sargsyan held public meetings in the villages of Aijntap and Hayanist, as well as in Masis, Ararat and Vedi, Ararat region, Armenia.
The Armenian president is also expected to visit Artashat.
Serzh Sargsyan presented the way the RPA has passed since it was founded. The RPA leader also informed the public of the party’s previous activities and plans for the next five years.
Serzh Sargsyan thanked the local residents for supporting the ruling party during the previous elections and called on them to support it in the upcoming elections for the RPA to accomplish the tasks it has set itself.
“As we know, the global economic crisis affected Armenia as well. We were able to resist the crisis by exerting tremendous efforts, without reducing the financing of any social programs. On the contrary, in some cases we were even able to increase the financing aimed to settle social problems,” the Armenian president said.
In personal conversations with local residents, President Serzh Sargsyan promised to settle the current problems by means of reforms.
The RPA leader called on the voters to be active during the upcoming parliamentary elections. “We must form a parliament that will be able to implement all the programs we have planned to implement,” Serzh Sargsyan said. May 6 must prove an end to enmity between people.
During his visit to the Ararat region, the Armenian president was accompanied by ex-chief of Armenia’s police Alik Sargsyan, RPA member Lernik Alexanyan, Chairman of the Armenian Eagles NGO Khachik Asryan and others.
Parliamentary elections are to be held in Armenia on May 6.
