PM Tigran Sargsyan meets Belarusian FM.

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received on Tuesday the foreign minister of Belarus, Sergey Martinov.
Greeting the guest, the premier praised the high-level friendly and political relations between the two countries, highlighting the potential of developing an economic cooperation.
According to a press release by the Government, the two officials attached importance of the intergovernmental council which is due to hold its next meeting in Minsk this autumn.
They further addressed a broad framework of economic collaboration issues, considering particularly the possibility of involving Belarus in the construction of the North-South highway and a new energy bloc at the Nuclear Power Plant, the activities of a Belarusian leasing company in Armenia, as well as the supply of agricultural machinery.
They particularly stressed the importance of developing cooperation in diamond manufacturing, nuclear industry and tourism.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on developing cooperation in jewelry industry was signed between Armenia’s Ministry of Economy and the Belarusian Ministry of Finance.
