Armenian FM and IAEA Director speak about new NPP.

Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received on Wednesday Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Armenian official said his country attaches great importance to the relations with the IAEA and to the development of cooperation, viewing it as an important component of Armenia's energy and nuclear safety.
Edward Nalbandian recalled that when participating in the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul Armenian President reiterated IAEA's central role in creating effective mechanisms of nuclear security.
In his turn, Yukiya Amino said that IAEA attaches importance to the cooperation with Armenia in the nuclear sphere and assessed it as highly productive.
The officials also dwelt on the cooperation between Armenia and IAEA over the exploitation of the Metsamort Nuclear Power Plant and construction of a new NPP. In this respect, the Armenian FM said being a country, which possesses nuclear technology, Armenia has joined a number of international legal documents regulating the sphere, as well as the EU's initiative of risk assessments of nuclear power plants."
Edward Nalbandian and Yukiya Amano exchanged thoughts on the IAEA steps targeted at ensuring nuclear security on the international level.
