On April 18, the RA Ministry of Diaspora organized a press conference devoted to the “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian Festival.
The “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian Festival is being held under the high patronage of the RA President.
Among participants were RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, President of the Union of Writers of Armenia Levon Ananyan and Director of the “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian Festival Samvel Haroyan.
Hakobyan presented the main goals of the “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian Festival implemented by the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
The festival program will include the “6th Pan-Armenian Conference of Writers” (April 20-23), the “6th Pan-Armenian Forum of Journalists” (October 4-7), the “Days of Armenian Dance” (June 25-July 15), the “Days of Choral Art” (July 25-August 15), performances by individual performers (June-October) and the “Pan-Armenian Duduk Festival” (September 6-18).
Levon Ananyan touched upon the “6th Pan-Armenian Conference of Writers”, mentioning that in February 2012, the presidency of the Union of Writers of Armenia decided to accept 70 Diaspora-Armenian writers as full-fledged members of the Union.
Samvel Haroyan presented the details of the “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian Festival, which will launch with a solemn opening ceremony at Zvartnots Temple on June 29. The festival will bring together choirs, dance groups and performers from different Diaspora Armenian communities, as well as well-known groups and performers from the Republic of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
More than 50 events will be held throughout the festival, including open-air concerts in Yerevan, the provinces and the NKR, concerts at several concert halls in Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, master’s courses for dance group leaders and dance instructors, flash-mobs, roundtable discussions, excursions, as well as meetings with state, public and cultural figures.
The goal of the festival is to strengthen the Armenia-Diaspora partnership, contribute to the preservation and the development of the Armenian identity and culture, support the deepening of cultural ties between young creators in Armenia and the Diaspora, the development and implementation of joint programs, support the development and dissemination of contemporary Armenian arts, as well as identify and consolidate all Armenian cultural figures.
The RA Ministry of Diaspora will cover the participants’ expenses for food, will provide them with guest houses, will rent halls for concerts and necessary technical equipment, will provide transportation and will organize all the events.
