Edward Nalbandian introduces priorities of Armenia’s upcoming presidency over CSTO

Armenia Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan took part in the joint session of Council of Foreign
Ministers, Council of Defense Ministers and Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of Collective Security Treaty Organization in Dushanbe on September 15.
The Acting Chief of Staff of the National Security Council Aram Tananyan represented the NSC. “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia that
the Ministers talked about the procedures of decisionmaking of December 2014 Security Council sessions.
Drafts of over two tens of documents included in the agenda of the Collective Security Council sitting to take place in the second half of the day were approved during the session.
During the meeting, issues of coordination of CSTO memberstates’ foreign policy were discussed, the development of military and militarytechnical cooperation, fight against terrorism, information security were reflected on.
Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolay Bordyuzha reported on the current activity of the organization and the results achieved in the framework of cooperation.
Edward Nalbandian introduced the priorities of Armenia’s upcoming presidency over the CSTO.
A number of documents related to cooperation in the framework of CSTO were signed.
At the end of the session the presidency in the Council of Foreign Ministers, Council of Defense Ministers and Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of Collective Security Treaty Organization was assumed by Armenia.
