During a meeting with youth at the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun's (ARF-D) Aram Manukyan Center, ARF-D member, deputy candidate Artsvik Minasyan mentioned that one of the main, current issues facing Armenian youth today was the lack of the relationship between education and the labor market.
"Armenian youth graduate from school, get accepted to a university or an intermediate vocational institution without knowing whether they will be able to find a job according to their profession after graduation or not," mentioned Minasyan.
The Dashnaks propose several reforms in this sphere. According to Minasyan, youth who have already decided their profession in high school should receive free education to study the profession of their choice. In addition, the government should determine the professions in demand.
According to Artsvik Minasyan, the ARF-D pre-electoral program also includes the issue of providing the youth with affordable homes.
"We know that many youth postpone marriage due to the housing issue. We envisage building 3-5,000 homes a year, of which 3,000 will be built in the provinces. These homes must be provided to the youth through mortgages," mentioned Artsvik Minasyan.
The Dashnaks also informed the youth that their pre-electoral program also includes the issue of providing all students with free hostel rooms, free education for students with children and promoting the development of physical education.
The Dashnaktsutyun also says it is important to rule out discrimination against the political party when implementing youth programs through the state budget.
