Three Armenian servicemen were killed on Friday in the line of contact between the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Defense Ministry’s investigation department received a call saying a vehicle belonging to one of the servicemen was shelled in Tavush Region of Armenia.
The driver and two passengers received gunshot wounds, Armenia’s Defense Ministry reported.
Despite the undertaken efforts, two of them died on the way, while the third in the hospital.
Traces of bullets were found on the vehicle. An investigation is underway.
To note, in the past couple of days, the opponent has started committing more intensive ceasefire violations at the line of contact of the conflicting forces with more than 2,000 shots fired at the Armenian positions, injuring soldiers of the Karabakhi side. On April 24, the opponent fired at a sanitary car with an ISTIGLAL weapon, injuring Defense Army soldiers Andranik Madoyan and Ernest Sargsyan.
This goes to show once again that the opponent is still going along with its strategy to destabilize the line of contact of the Armenian and Azerbaijani forces and is opening fire at a sanitary car with the Red Cross logo by cynically ignoring the provisions of humanitarianism established by the Geneva Convention, reports the NKR Defense Army's News and Propaganda Department.
