Armenia’s Republican Party leads election race due to Gallup International survey.

39.2 percent of respondents would vote for the Republican Party of Armenia if the parliamentary elections were held this Sunday, says the survey held by Gallup International Association.
Gallup has conducted survey in Yerevan and the regions on April 17-23 on the order of Armenia TV company.
The second is Prosperous Armenia, 29.9% of respondents are ready to vote for the party, said head of Armenian representation of Gallup International Aram Navasardyan.
The third is Armenian National Congress bloc – 12.2%, Heritage – 6.3%, ARF Dashnaktsutyun – 5.3%, Communist Party of Armenia and Democratic Party of Armenia – 1.1% and 0.1% respectively.
Eight political parties and one block have presented their nominations – Republican Party of Armenian, Prosperous Armenia Party, Orinats Yerkir, opposition Armenian National Congress, opposition Heritage Party, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, the Communist Party of Armenia, Democratic Party of Armenia and United Armenians Party.
For entering the National Assembly, parties must poll over 5% of votes, while blocks - over 7%.
The election campaign will be held till May 5 - the day prior to elections when campaigning is banned. The parliamentary elections will be held from 8 am to 8 pm on May 6, 2012.
