Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who is on a working visit to the Tavush region, Armenia, visited on Friday an international school under construction in Dilijan.
The school is supposed to provide high-quality education, with Armenian national traditions and international experience combined.
The project is to be implemented in two stages, with the first stage to be completed in 2014. Large-scale construction is to get under way this June. The school construction [project is expected to be completed in 2016. The school is designed for 650 students aged 13 to 18.
The Armenian leader was informed of other construction projects: Dilijan training and research center of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), Dilijan town library, block of flats for the staff of the Dilijan training and research center.
The Armenian leader visited the new building of the Dilijan museum of area studies and was shown centuries-old archeological and ethnographic exhibits.
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund sponsored the renovation of the highway connecting the national road and the Haghartsin monastery complex. Also, water- and gas pipelines were constructed. President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Haghartsin complex and got acquainted with the renovation work.
The Armenian leader also visited the Lori region.
President Serzh Sargsyan began his tour with visiting the Gloria-Sartis factory in Vanadzor. The Armenian leader was informed of the factory’s current operation and development programs. Back in 2009, during the Armenian leader’s visit to the region, the Sartis company (Italy) and Gloria company (Armenia), presented a joint program of expanding cooperation. To implement the program, the companies’ managers asked the president for assistance in resolving a number of problems. Now, presenting the results to the Armenian president, the company managers informed him of efficient production and 450 jobs. The Gloria-Sartis company is producing high-quality clothing competitive in the Europeanb market. The company plans to establish production in other Armenian regions, giving priority to rural areas.
In the Arevashogh community, the Armenian leader was informed of the housing program in the rural communities.
President Serzh Sargsyan participated in the housewarming parties of 28 families. Also, another 170 families in 13 communities will get their housing certificates soon.
