RA Police withdraws names of 3278 deceased people from voter lists and rejects 299 cases.

The Passport and Visa Department of the Armenian Police has checked about 4462 cases of inaccuracies received from election headquarters, Civil Status Registration Office of the Ministry of Justice and media from March 27 to April 27.

As a result of checking, 3278 names of deceased were found on the state registry list, another 299 cases of inaccuracies were rejected. The information about 34 people was impossible to check. Another 99 cases are being clarified. Personal data of 752 people could not be found on the voters' list.

during the reporting period the Passport and Visa Department received about 134 calls about 196 inaccuracies though a hot-line operating in the Department.

According to the country's Electoral Code, all voters of Armenia may attend polling stations before May 1, get acquainted with the voters' list and in case of finding inaccuracies, turn to passport departments, which shall fix the inaccuracies within five days.
