The Heritage party’s campaign headquarters released a statement.
According to the statement, the party’s campaign headquarters accede to the letter by six political parties running for parliament. In their letter the parties propose that Armenia’s National Security Service allow one representative of each of the parties to use the Electronic Border Control System from May 6, Election Day, to the end of the deadline for applications for invalidating the election results. This will enable the parties to verify the information on individual voters.
“We guarantee to use the information we get by means of this system only in a) applying for invalidating the election results and b) applying to police for the purpose of holding district election commission members responsible,” says the statement.
One of the options is publishing the list of voters that actually participated in the voting, which has been the Heritage party’s demand for years. The ruling coalition has, however, consistently rejected the idea. The other option is ensuring the voting right for the hundreds of thousands of Armenian citizens living abroad, which is not being done because of “Armenia’s unconstitutional election law.”
