Armenia’s defense minister receives outgoing Iranian ambassador.

Armenia’s defense minister Seyran Ohanyan received Iranian ambassador to Armenia Seyed Ali Saghaian on the occasion of ending the diplomatic mission in Armenia.

Defense Ministry’s press service reported that during the meeting the parties rated high the relations between the two countries and noted that during the 20-year long cooperation they implemented a number of programs and intend to expand the cooperation in the near future as well.

The interlocutors also referred to a number of regional issues, ways of settlement of the existing conflicts.

Armenia’s defense minister thanked the ambassador for promoting the reinforcement of ties and development of Armenian-Iranian relations.

The ambassador stressed that Armenian-Iranian strategic relations stem from the political will of the leaders of the two countries as well as historic-cultural similarities of the two peoples.

Seyran Ohanyan wished the ambassador success and voiced hope that in his future activity as well he will promote the reinforcement of friendly ties between the two countries.
