The husband of Ukraine's former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said that photos showing his wife lying bruised in a prison cell are "shocking and horrifying," Xinhua news report said.

Husband of Yulia Tymoshenko Oleksandr Tymoshenko said, "These photographs are shocking. The violence that was used against an opponent, a politician, a famous politician, and finally a woman - they are simply shocking and horrifying.

Of course we would all like this to end as soon as possible. We don’t want her to be on hunger strike, but I understand that for her this is the only method to show the way the authorities are really treating her and all prisoners."
