"The government usually serves those whom it owes for receiving power," member of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Nikol Pashinyan announced during a meeting in Talin today. According to him, in order for the government to serve the citizens, the article of the RA Constitution stating that the people exercises power through free elections must turn into a reality.
Nikol Pashinyan called on citizens of Talin to implement the 30-second revolution without thinking twice. "I am certain that on May 6, we will open the ballot boxes and see that the only thing left for Serzh Sargsyan and his party will be the eggs that they distributed on Easter in April," said Pashinyan.
In his speech, ex-prime minister Hrant Bagratyan mentioned that Armenia's statehood has always suffered not because of foreign pressures, but because of "the rulers in the country". According to him, that is the type of government in Armenia right now.
Talking about current issues in the army, the ex-prime minister noted that there were 82 generals in the Armenian army, while Turkey's army, which is ten times the size of Armenia's army, has only twice the amount of generals.
There were quite a lot of people at the rally in Talin. HAK deputy candidate running at precinct N 15, ex-political prisoner Mkrtich Sapeyan recalled that the citizens of Talin had voted for opposition candidates during all the previous elections.
